I am a lively and highly motivated 23-year old with a great passion for the tourism industry and live events management. Having recently graduated with a master’s degree in Strategic Management and Tourism Studies at the University of Malta, I am actively pursuing opportunities within the events management sphere that resonate with my fervor. Concurrently, besides my work commitments, I am actively involved in event coordination, leveraging this experience to refine my skills and adeptness in managing multifaceted tasks.
I personally take a keen interest on learning languages due to the fact, that I later on wish to travel and live abroad for some time. Proficient in linguistics, I perceive language acquisition not solely as a personal forte, but as a gateway to fostering connections and understanding across diverse landscapes. I eagerly seek avenues to further enrich my linguistic competencies while gleaning insights from professionals in the field.
Last but not least, at the core of my ambitions lies the goal of becoming a successful Events Manager. Equipped with strong organisational skills and effective communication abilities, I'm ready to tackle the challenges of event planning with finesse and efficiency. My work ethic revolves around principles of loyalty, dependability, consistency, and a dedicated approach to teamwork. I feel that I have the potential to move forward in my career and apply the knowledge I've gained in recent years to succeed in my next role.
During my time at Bet365 as a Responsible Gambling Specialist, I found myself deeply immersed in the mission to promote responsible gambling practices.
My role wasn't just about ticking boxes; it was about making a tangible difference in the lives of our users. I took pride in implementing initiatives and supporting tools aimed at educating and supporting customers, ensuring they were enjoying their gaming experience responsibly.
Whether it was crafting educational materials or providing personalised assistance to those in need, I cherished every opportunity to contribute positively to our community. This experience not only honed my professional skills but also reinforced my commitment to making a meaningful impact in the gaming industry.
Since I was first hired by Paddy Power Betfair back in December 2020, I have always been working towards my ultimate goal; that of progressing to a leadership role.
Additionally, last year I have also started assisting new agents through their probation period, in 1-2-1 coaching sessions and mentoring sessions as well. These opportunities allowed me to guide agents, help them understand what their work entails and familiarise themselves in a better way with our company.
During my experience as a Prime CS Agent, I have had a complete understanding of the challenges facing a customer service representative since I have been serving this role for the past 6 months. Moreover, during my time with the company, I have effectively assisted customers via live-chat and live calls while also doing so with a high level of dedication and attentiveness.
Upon completion of my A’Level Examinations, I decided once again to find myself a summer job in order to gain more work experience. In the beginning months, I took on an administrative role for the acquired properties of AX Group since its foundation. After completing several tasks, I was also asked to shift my focus towards the digitalisation of projects, plans and other important archived documents of the company, since the firm was relocating its headquarters.
During my 9-month experience, I was also invited to work on several occasions from the reception desk of the AX Group Head Office. On these particular occasions, my main tasks were to respond to customers’ enquiries along with handling and managing complaints face-to-face, via email and over the phone, thus giving me the first taste of work experience in the tourism industry.
Once I look back at this experience, I feel that I learned a lot as it helped me grow even more as an adult. Unfortunately, my work experience came to an abrupt end since the tourism industry suffered from significant losses during the initial stages of the pandemic, with my contract not being able to be continued.
During my short experience as a 'Bartender' at the Marsovin Wine Festival, I can say that I learned a fair number of things in just a small period of time. During this three-day festival my main responsibility was to serve the customer in the best way possible, be polite and meet clients’ expectations.
The work done at the festival has helped me in acquiring teamwork and good communication skills. This required teamwork and good communication skills.
After finishing my Matsec O'Level examinations, the only thing I had in mind was to find a summer job to help me gain some work experience prior to entering sixth form. Being my first work experience, I immediately thought that an 'Archivist' would be an easy job, but I was totally wrong. An 'Archivist' at S&D Yachts was a tough job to start but I learned valuable lessons throughout the course of three months.
My job mainly consisted of archiving various important copies and authentic documents which I made sure that were filed in the correct order. From this experience I learned to be more organised not only in my work but also in my personal life, the ability to solve problems and to plan everything beforehand in various circumstances.
SDM (Studenti Demokristjani Maltin) - Student Activist / Promoter
In 2018, during my Junior College years, I initiated my foray into events planning by actively participating within the student organization SDM. Despite being just 17 years old, I eagerly delved into the complexities of event invitations and promotions for a diverse array of activities. From vibrant movie nights to exhilarating football tournaments, from eco-conscious beach cleanups to adventurous treasure hunts, I embraced each opportunity to contribute and learn.
As a passionate promoter, my main focus was on encouraging my peers to join in these exciting events. I put my heart into coming up with creative ways to spread the word and genuinely shared my excitement to get everyone involved. It was all about building up the hype, bringing people together, and creating a lively atmosphere filled with friendship and shared experiences.
SDM (Studenti Demokristjani Maltin) - Events Planning
At the age of 18 in 2019, fueled by my passion, I ventured into events planning with a group of classmates from Junior College. Together, we orchestrated our inaugural event in Paceville, targeting teenagers between 17 and 20 years old, primarily from Junior College. With an attendance of approximately 300 individuals, I was delighted by the turnout of friends and classmates. This endeavor was a significant learning experience, particularly in terms of budgeting and financing, as it marked my first foray into independent event planning.
SDM (Studenti Demokristjani Maltin) - Events Officer
Transitioning into my second year at University, my commitment to active involvement in student organizations persisted. In the academic year 2020/21, I assumed the role of Events Officer within the executive team of SDM. During this period, I spearheaded the planning and execution of events catered to students aged 16 to 25, ranging from hikes and bingo nights to campaigns on drug awareness and student activism. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, my team and I adapted by hosting a blend of virtual and in-person events in accordance with health directives, ensuring SDM's continued support for students across educational institutions in Malta and Gozo.
Elevated - Co-founder & Events Coordinator
Towards the conclusion of my term as Events Officer at SDM in 2021, I embarked on a project I had been developing for months. Co-founding 'Elevated' alongside business partners, we created a dynamic events brand aimed primarily at 17 to 21-year-olds, including Junior College and University students, as well as attendees from other educational institutions.
Over the course of a year, Elevated successfully organized five distinct events, each surpassing attendance records set by its predecessor. Notably, these events encompassed diverse themes such as Christmas, Carnival, Summer beach parties, Easter Raves, and Halloween Raves, with attendance peaking at approximately 1,600 individuals for select events hosted at Sky Club and Palm Beach. My responsibilities at Elevated predominantly revolved around securing sponsorships, overseeing collaborations with local and international brands, managing promoter teams, and handling ticket sales.
Sound Salon - Events Coordinator
In 2022 and 2023, I had the privilege of joining Sound Salon, one of Malta's premier live music event brands, as Head of Promoting. Tasked with recruiting and managing promoting and ticket-selling teams, single handedly I successfully led a campaign that enlisted over 250 promoters at its peak.
Throughout my tenure at Sound Salon, I had the privilege of being involved in the organization of several successful events, each drawing crowds of up to 1,300 attendees. Notable occasions included the Carnival Matinée in Gozo and the Little Armier Summer Opener featuring the renowned international DJ Otto Knows. My focus on effective team management and thoughtful event promotion strategies played a significant role in contributing to the overall success of these endeavors.
Restricted - Co-founder & Events Coordinator
I co-founded Restricted in early 2024, a boutique events brand specializing in intimate and exclusive gatherings. As Events Coordinator, I am responsible for curating personalized experiences in unique venues tailored to a discerning audience. My role involves conceptualizing and planning intimate events, coordinating logistics including venue selection and entertainment, and cultivating partnerships with premium vendors to enhance event offerings. I also oversee guest list management and execute marketing strategies to promote events effectively. Through Restricted, I've contributed to redefining Malta's events scene by offering distinctive and unforgettable experiences that prioritize quality and exclusivity, resonating with a discerning clientele seeking memorable and meaningful gatherings.
