Inspecting in coming and out going freight based on their Bill of Leading and its contents using the National Motorized Freight Classification manual (NMFC). Making sure the freight description is correctly identified as well as its weight and density. When discrepancies are found proper documentation, photos, and facts are submitted for correction. Loading and unloading freight from trailers using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks while maintaining safety protocols. In my position I worked with zero to minimum supervision as I was XPO's only Classification Freight Specialist in Montana. Working nights on a freight dock in all climates. I was also part of their Safety Team to insure policy and protocols were being met by all staff and visitors.
I started at RYO (Reintegrating Youthful Offenders) as a Juvenile Correctional Officer. During this time I supervised offenders, providing and assisting them with education, treatment and programming. I would also do intake and release procedures which include - strip searches, finger printing, UA's, BA's, document personal information. I was involved with transportation, pat down, restraints and thorough searches. Being consistent, reliable and following all policies and procedures.
While being a supervisor I would do shift scheduling, conduct meeting and trainings, and administer medication to offenders. Rearrange transportation for court hearings and in house video hearings.
