During this period, working as Veterinary Nurse at Pets Veterinary Clinic, I have obtained a much wider knowledge in Veterinary sector as well as in managerial techniques. My daily duties as a Veterinary Nurse included the following:

• Reception duties including, registration of new/ regular patients and clients, taking calls, set up appointments accordingly, meaning; evaluating every case with precision
• Draw blood samples mostly from felines and canines
• Running blood tests on newly advanced laboratory machineries, - Assisting during operations
• Monitoring of patients during gas anesthesia - Sterilizing and disinfection of surgical instruments/ surgical surfaces - Handling and restraining of domestic animals
• Induction of IV cannulas
• Administration of medicine through various ways of methods: SC, IM, IV.
• Calculating fluid therapy and managing IV Pump, including calibration of pumps accordingly.
• Assisting clients through phone calls and in person - Managing nurse appointment
• Post operative care such as dressing change, removal of stitches
• Taking parameters during anesthesia; heart rate, SPO2, respiration rate, checking reflexes pupillary reflex
• Assisting the veterinarian during x-ray procedures.
• During this year and a half at Pets Veterinary Clinic I have obtained a wide range of knowledge in stock taking and managing of monthly invoices.

During this period at Qormi Vet Clinic I have learnt on how to work in a larger team. This have led to a better communication skill. My daily duties included:

• Reception duties including, registration of patients, evaluating of each case and in case of an emergency immediate action is taken.
