Dynamic and detail-oriented professional with a proven track record in healthcare and facility maintenance. Excelled at both St. John's Lutheran Ministries and Riverstone Health by enhancing patient satisfaction through empathetic communication and meticulous attention to safety standards. Skilled in chemical handling and fostering team collaboration, I consistently prioritize that the client is treated with dignity, reminded gently of boundaries, and encouraged to ask questions. I have an innate and learned skill for interpreting body language and other non-verbal communication to understand and anticipate the needs of those who are unable to speak due to substance, stroke, emotions, congenital conditions, or other factors. I was awarded the Hands and Hearts of Jesus Award at St John's and calmly directed evacuation of Rimview Square at St John's due to an electrical fire within the walls of the the kitchen and then utilized appropriate fire extinguisher to put out the fire before the fire dept arrived and stated "You are the one who extinguished the fire?! Nice Job!!"
These are my freedom and peace of mind activities that help wash away stress and prepare me for a calm workday.
I have loved my career in nursing and healthcare, enjoyed my earlier experience in bartending, and learned so much from my employers, elders, clients, and families. I have grown and laughed and enjoyed almost all of my jobs - brief or lasting - but have elected to retire my nursing career following the COVID pandemic and anticipating the challenges of health and age. I am now looking forward to jobs that can be rewarding but less a burden of responsibility. I can be counted on to always do my best, try to improve and learn daily, and recognize my own limitations, as well as ask for assistance or advice if I have questions.
