- During my career as an educator in childcare, I had the opportunity to work with children with intellectual disabilities with developmental onset such as Down syndrome and children with different autism spectrum disorders
- Specifically, I followed a child with Down syndrome from the first year of life until he entered kindergarten
- I also followed a child with suspected autism from two to two and a half years old and another child from three to three and a half years old.I tried to support the path of the dawn child in the best possible way: I supported and encouraged him to be as autonomous as possible: around the age of two and a half he began to walk on his own and decrease his crawling and he had also started to eat on his own trying to get a baby and a fork
- During the summer we had a swimming pool available and I was positively impressed by how comfortable the child with dawn syndrome was with the element of water
- The child with a suspected autism diagnosis was fascinated by water

- To greet the children and break the ice, the first activity of the day took place in the 'circle room', a moment to welcome the children with some songs and some yoga exercises, to promote psychomotor development, but also to manage stress and accumulated emotions during the school day
- Afterward, we educators helped the children with their homework, and the children without homework were dedicated to free play with our supervision
- Later, playful activities related to art, cooking, gardening, sports, music were carried out, planned according to the age of the children's groups
- In addition to carrying out the activity, the child was also followed in the education of respect for others and for himself
- After the time of homework, the child was also followed in the snack, a moment of nutritional education in which the children were often given a fruit

- In my experience in that after-school program with children from 3 to 13 years of age, I have had the opportunity to carry out activities with children with character disorders, oppositional behaviors, refugee children, children with difficult family situations, children in situations of poverty and children with intellectual disabilities
