  • During my career as an educator in childcare, I had the opportunity to work with children with intellectual disabilities with developmental onset such as Down syndrome and children with different autism spectrum disorders
  • Specifically, I followed a child with Down syndrome from the first year of life until he entered kindergarten
  • I also followed a child with suspected autism from two to two and a half years old and another child from three to three and a half years old.I tried to support the path of the dawn child in the best possible way: I supported and encouraged him to be as autonomous as possible: around the age of two and a half he began to walk on his own and decrease his crawling and he had also started to eat on his own trying to get a baby and a fork
  • During the summer we had a swimming pool available and I was positively impressed by how comfortable the child with dawn syndrome was with the element of water
  • The child with a suspected autism diagnosis was fascinated by water

  • To greet the children and break the ice, the first activity of the day took place in the 'circle room', a moment to welcome the children with some songs and some yoga exercises, to promote psychomotor development, but also to manage stress and accumulated emotions during the school day
