I am a 27 year old female, who attended Convent of the Sacred heart, St.Julians for primary and secondary education were then I studied for my MATSEC examinations and then entered G.F Abela Junior College were I studied for A-Level examinations. After Junior College, I started the Diploma in Health Sciences at the University of Malta were I graduated in 2017 and started working at Karen Grech Hospital at RW8 in which I still work till present. During the COVID-19 pandemic I have also worked in the Covid ward of KGH RW10 in which the positive covid patients of KGH were being nursed. Throughout these seven years working at KGH I have attended multiple short courses offered by the hospital together with seminars and conferences. During this period I also obtained a Bsc. (Hons) in Nursing studies and an Msc. Management in Elderly Care.

- Multiple times I had to mentor nursing students and nurses on adaptation, and educated them on nursing skills including the prioritizing, direct patient care, medication administration, disease processes, and health promotion teaching skills when educating patients
- Serve as a patient advocate to ensure that their medical and emotional needs are recognized and met
- Operating medical instruments and equipment effectively to ensure patient safety
- Being one of the senior nurses on the ward, I have the responsibility to be in charge on some days
- This requires excellent time-management, organizational skills and discipline
- Recently due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I applied for the post of a staff nurse in the hospitals' isolation ward
- This involved certain training and skills such as Nasal Swabbing technique, Donning and doffing of PPEs and later training junior staff how to properly make use of these PPEs, knowledge about HEPA filters and ventilation mechanisms that provide negative pressure, preventing cross-contamination within the 'clean' and 'dirty' areas in the ward, and more knowledge about the Covid-19 virus and its effect on patients.
