In the content team, the role of English Content Manager entails being responsible for English content creation and input on DUXGroup brands, working closely with the other content managers and the Head of Content to ensure that DUXGroup's sites have good, high-quality content.

The role's responsibilities include:

• Website content creation (Casino & Sportsbook).

I worked on a freelance basis with We Are Not A Shop, a philanthropic organisation that works to preserve cultural architectural heritage through the Save the Valletta Skyline appeal, as well as aiding St John Malta. A work portfolio in relation to this role can be provided upon request.

The role's responsibilities were as follows:

• Monthly campaigns including social media posts on Facebook and Instagram, sourcing of items from the site, caption and content writing, image creation, scheduling, and posting.
• Social media advertising through sponsored posts on Facebook and Instagram to pre-agreed budgets, and creation of banner artwork using Canva.
• Writing blog posts of around1,000 words that can be either campaign-related, of general interest, or about a specific item/s from the site, including sourcing imagery where applicable, uploading to the site, sharing on social media, and sending out as direct mail via MailChimp.
• Identification of niche groups and pages to target and share content with.
• Identification of keywords and assistance in incorporating them into site text/new text/revision of text.
• Proofreading where necessary.
• Recommendations for SEO and site optimisation.

Following from the previous role of Chat Operator, which required pseudo-content writing skills, I was tasked with monitoring and managing a team of individuals and providing feedback on their organic messages, once again tapping into my preference for writing and appealing to a particular audience.

The role's responsibilities were as follows:

• To supply astrological advice to clients via real-time chat.
• To provide astrologically accurate answers to questions according to client's natal chart data, in line with the trained format.
• To provide astrological and grammatically correct answers to client questions according to natal chart information.
• Train, lead, and monitor his/her team.
• To adhere and meet target requirements as set out by Management.
• Undertaking any other tasks as required by the Line Manager or the Company from time to time.

This role consist of pseudo-content writing, whereby one was tasked with handling sensitive scenarios and providing advice to clients by merging both life coaching skills and astrological insight, essentially requiring creative writing skills.

The role's responsibilities were as follows:

• Prepare ethical responses to astrology queries.
• Prepare answers by computing the position of the planets, their relationship to each other, and to zodiacal signs, based on factors such as time and place the subject was born.
• Prepare answers to numerous messages a day and deliver them within the agreed time-frame.
• Communicate clearly and with confidence in a one-on-one situation.
• Write engaging responses giving advice and information based on astrological data.
• Keep up to date on major astrological events and incorporate these into your customer interaction.
• Promote astrology as a professional and responsible subject that exists for the benefit of all.
• Ensure you follow policies and procedures and adhere to targets.

The role of Junior Content Quality Assurance Specialist required:

• An eye for detail.
• Working closely with other departments, making sure that the produced content is up to standard by proofreading and editing it.
• Adhering to and developing the WIS Content Quality Assurance standards.
• Implementing measures to continuously improve content quality.
• Being up-to-date with recent developments in on-page SEO and content writing.
• Proofreading and commenting on produced content.
• Editing produced content in WordPress.
• Researching on content issues.
• Reporting on content-related findings to the team leader and product manager.
• Supporting authors with regular feedback loops.
• Creating original, ad-hoc content for the company website on an occasional basis.

In 2019, I participated in an internship with House.MT, a blog that provides consultancy services to homeowners. The internship consisted of writing a series of blog articles, a complete list of which can be accessed in my writing portfolio.

The articles had to be written in a variety of styles, from interviews and research to more generic blog posts, making sure that they made for quick and easy reading. Some also required liaising with companies during particular marketing campaigns. These elements resulted in an appreciation of brand awareness, as well as working efficiently under deadline pressures.

The training also include styling and uploading these articles to the website mainframe, resulting in an introductory knowledge of WordPress and SEO.

Working as an ESL teacher required a degree of patience and the ability to organise large amounts of teaching material in a short period of time. This material also had to be meticulously documented and filed after each lesson.

I have taught foreign students at Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Intermediate Plus, and Advanced levels. I have also engaged in private one-on-one sessions.
