Summary
Currently a Student at the University of Montana double majoring in Sociology and Communication Studies. My goal is to work in a school as a guidance counselor for middle or high school. I love to teach and work with kids as well as help them through what everyday kids are going through. I’ve worked in many different capacities around children for almost seven years now. This including after school care, summer camps, shadowing in classrooms, as well as working with my parents in their respective fields and classrooms being educators themselves. Every job I've had I've found is based around connecting with children and connecting them to the world around them. This is something I always strive for in my everyday life and keeping kids connected to those around them bettering their experiences. I’ve always loved to help people no matter where I am, and I know I have the skills and determination to make the most out of my ability to help people.

- As a relief counselor my responsibilities involve taking care of and maintaining the children in our home
- My job is to take care of the children's emotional and physical needs while maintaining a framework for which they can thrive in
- We care for up to six kids at a time ages from five to twelve with developmental trauma and that have been taken out of their homes
- Our focus is to repair these kids trust and connection with adults preparing them to be functional members of a family
- We care for kids with a wide range of trauma from physical and sexual abuse to neglect and abandonment, helping each of them individually

- In this position I am part of a team that takes care of and entertains children after school
- These kids are anywhere from six to nine years old, and we have about 25 on a given day
- My responsibilities include helping them get through a daily routine and following established boundaries
- On days in which my supervisor is not there I take on that responsibility
- In this program we focus on following expectations and having fun
- With these younger kids I really strive for them to be able to follow directions and have fun doing it, learning ways to incorporate these two seemingly opposing ideas
- I have also had to handle multiple situations where kids don’t follow directions, get into fights or try to harm one another
