• Manage transactional and contentious IP matters, guiding clients through the complexities of IP rights registration, enforcement, and defense.
• Regularly assist on IP due diligence reviews, such as in the context of acquisitions.
• Have acted as the main legal counsel and representative before the EUIPO Divisions (including the Opposition and Cancellation Divisions) and the Board of Appeal, as well as the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Centre. Locally, I also frequently appear before the Maltese Courts as legal counsel and representative in IP-related disputes, which have included cases involving the application of EU instruments and pan-European measures.
• Other regular work includes IPR contract drafting, such as IP assignment agreements, licences, franchise and distributor agreements.
