  • Negotiates on behalf of Government in EU Defence Industry Working Party. Negotiated EU Programmes such as EDIRPA, ASAP, EDIP and SAFE in support of the European defence industry. Represents Government in the EDF Programme Committee dealing with the implementation of this Fund.
  • Represents the Government of Malta in the European Defence Agency and liaises with relevant Ministry to ensure effective participation in ongoing capability development projects and joint procurement opportunities.
  • Liaises with EU Institutions and Member States to address sensitivities and achieve consensus.
  • Reports on proceedings, alerting stakeholders to immediate issues and highlighting any opportunities that could benefit stakeholders, including EU funding.
  • Monitors closely developments in European defence industry to inform strategic decisions.
