Work History

Police Constable

Malta Police Force
10.2000 - Current

My first posting in the police force was at the Sliema and St Julian station from October 2000 to March 2004. I later applied to the administrative law enforcement unit (A.L.E) and was accepted, resulting in my transfer to this unit.

My primary duty was to enforce environmental laws. This included carrying out inspections on hunters during open season to ensure they were not breaking any laws during their practices. The inspections were carried out on land and even at sea.

The unit also focused on cases of illegal dumping, which was a significant problem in Malta during that time. Together with my colleges managed to catch and prosecute several individuals who were caught in the act.

Aside from that, we were also responsible for traffic violations, illegal drug consumption, beach and sea patrol during summer months, and providing assistance to other branches and local districts.

In March 2014, I was transferred to Sliema police station. At that time, the police personnel were very low, and the crime rates, such as home intruders and pickpocketing, were high. With a team effort, we managed to break down an organised crime related to pickpocketing. Additionally, we educated the residents to be more vigilant and report any suspicious activity as soon as possible, which resulted in a decrease in home invasions.

During that period, I had other commitments, which included being stationed at the Emergency Department of Mater Dei to give police assistance to the medical staff. My primary responsibility was to handle challenging patients, such as the severely intoxicated, and to assist with tragic events such as traffic accidents and other emergencies.

In July 2017, I was asked to become the personal assistant of then Superintendent Alexandra Mamo. I served in her office until June 2020 when I was transferred to the Financial Crime Investigation Department (FCID) together with Superintendent Mamo.

Today, my role involves overseeing the daily operations of the building in which the FCID operates. I am the liaison person between the building's landlord and the police force.I schedule appointments with our stakeholders responsible for maintaining the building, such as the IT department, door security access company, trades department, lift company, air condition company and pest control.

I am responsible for extracting requested footage from the CCTV cameras for court experts and the local police station. Additionally, I am responsible for managing staff access to

specific areas within the building.

This year is my last year within the force as in October 4th 2024 I will be struck off after 25 years serving in the force.
