I graduated from university in 2014. In 2015, I worked as a field control engineer in a large construction company for about 9 months. Right after, I worked for 7 years as a static project control engineer in a municipality in Istanbul. But now our world is changing and sustainability is gaining importance. and at the same time I am eager to do something about it and to improve myself further. And we had a conflict about this at my old workplace.

Green buildings, also knows as green construction or sustainable building refers to a structure that is environmental friendly, environmental responsible and resource efficient throughout the buildings whole life cycle. This includes the process of citing, design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation and demolition. In simpler terms green building design involves finding the balance between homebuilding as well as sustaining the environment.  Green buildings are designed to reduce the overall impact of the environment on human health, including the natural environment, by efficiently using energy, water and other natural resources in order to protect occupant health and improve employee production all while reducing waste, pollution and environmental degradation. 

I decided to make the difference with my expertize on a demanded part of civil engineering which is sustainable, ecological, green, eco-friendly, high performance, smart buildings. This is the area I want to be expert because this is the near future of civil engineering. The governments, NGOs and city planners are looking for ways to reduce carbon dioxide emissions as a result of the problems brought by today's global warming, as well as traditional reinforced concrete structures.
