- My duties included the day to day running of the CIAU Tech support branch, including the acquisition of unmarked vehicles and their continued maintenance.
- Research and development on covert surveillance measures and tools, such as gps tracking equipment and covert remote CCTV systems, which allowed specialized Police units to observe a target with no risk of being discovered, 7 such units built from scratch and 2 of which were in vehicle form.
- Marine surveillance using 2 unmarked vessels, used as observation platforms on the sea, especially on Hurd's bank and in between the waters of Sicily and Malta. These operation led to a number of seizures and arrests, while also adding to intel.
- Procurement oversight for unmarked vehicle parts and equipment needed to run the surveillance tools.
- Occasional assistance in surveillance operations, while using several vehicles, such as cars and motorbikes.
- Along with another Sergeant, helped kick-start the process of refurbishing St Andrews Police Compound.

- Wrote detailed narrative reports for use in investigations.
- Conducted surveillance to detect suspicious activity.
- Conducted vehicle checks to combat cross border crime between Bulgaria and Serbia.
- Liaised with the national Border Control Force to effect searches in all manner of vehicles, from passenger cars, to caravans and buses, to cargo trucks.
- Reported to Frontex daily and cultivated several informal relationships, I still make use of occasionally.
